Rhinoplasty is generally considered the most elegant, and perhaps most difficult, operation in all of plastic surgery. It is a procedure which requires very advanced skills to consistently achieve excellent results. Dr. Byrne and Dr. Boahene are members of a small and highly specialized group of surgeons who focus their practices entirely on plastic surgery of the face and neck, and specialize in rhinoplasty. Both are Maryland rhinoplasty specialists and each is trained in both the function of the nose (board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery) and the appearance of the nose. Dr Byrne is in fact “double boarded”, being board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well.

Primary Rhinoplasty
This patient had significant asymmetries and imbalance to the nose. Open structure techniques allowed us to restore a balance, refined appearance. The second set of pictures shows a typical example of how the incision beneath the nose heals, even early in the course. We use an "open" approach when indicated, and closed or "endonasal" techniques when that is best. The choice of technique, and the approach, is always tailored to the patients needs and desires.
